The next big thing in big-time men’s golf is the Presidents Cup in December, and boy oh boy our boys are eager to win one for the prez in Australia, right there where people remember how our hero alienated the Aussie prime minister over the telephone, butt-dialed him or something, then got pissy with him, hung up on him, we don’t know why and we don’t care why except we wonder, why? Why Australia?
And so we wait, and we’re okay with that, and you know why? It’s not the Ryder Cup.
In the meantime, the LPGA is in Oregonia for the Cambia Portlandia Classica, where Marina Alex is the defending champion, and we wait for the Solheim Cup, which is also not the Ryder Cup but which, like the Presidents Cup, the USA really oughta win.
