The LPGA is playing this week at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, the longest golf course name in the known world, which only means the LPGA has too many sponsors it’s trying to appease.
Maybe they’re overthinking it. Maybe not. I like to think like my new mental-game guru, Bryson DeChambeau. He said this week on “Feherty”:
“The times you think you’re overthinking, you’re just thinking about the wrong things.”
That’s IT. That’s exactly what I was overthinking.
I saw that same DeChambeau interview with Feherty, and liked his “overthinking” explanation (although I think he does overthink the shots at times. I think I had a birthday waiting for him to decide on a recent event). Bent Shaft golf tournament…. love it! That’s just my style, Bart. Unfortunately, the softball team I’m playing on has its first tournament in — of all places — Shelton that weekend. Otherwise I’d like to bring my already-bent shafts and join you! Next time!
